Is Bowlmind free?
No. It starts with a free 7-day trial, then a paid subscription. The price will be announced before launch, and people on the waitlist hear it first. The calorie calculator on this site is free and stays free.
When does Bowlmind launch?
There's no launch date yet. The app is in testing now. Join the waitlist and we'll send you a quick welcome now, then one email when it's on the App Store.
Is it only for iPhone?
Yes. Bowlmind is being built for iPhone first, and there is no Android version at the moment.
Which dogs is it for?
Adult dogs of any breed or size, from 1 year old. Puppies need a vet-guided growth plan, so the app does not set a calorie number for dogs under 12 months.
Where do the calorie numbers come from?
From the formula vets use: resting energy (70 × body weight in kg to the power 0.75) times a factor for neuter status and activity, from the AAHA 2021 nutrition guidelines. Every number is shown as an estimate, and a monthly weigh-in shows whether it needs adjusting.
Does it replace my vet?
No. It helps you feed the amount you meant to feed. It never diagnoses anything, and before any weight-loss plan it suggests a vet check first.
